Open Your Broker Account

Choose the right broker — this is where your money lives.

Download MT5 from Your Broker

Go to your broker's website and download MetaTrader 5 — not MT4. Most brokers have a direct link in the "Trading Platforms" section. Download from your broker specifically to get the correct server list.

Log In With Your Broker Account

Open MT5 → File → Login to Trade Account. Enter your account number, password, and select the correct server (e.g. Exness-Real8). Tick "Save Password".

Confirm XAUUSD Is Available

In MT5, go to View → Market Watch. Search for "XAUUSD" or "Gold". If it's not showing, right-click the Market Watch → Show All, then find it. This is the only chart Venom trades on.

✅ Once logged in, you should see your balance in your account. If it shows $0 your deposit may still be processing — that's normal. Proceed to Step 3 while you wait.

Install the Pipzard EA File

Copy your .ex5 file into the correct MT5 folder.

Open the Correct MT5 Folder

In MT5, click: File → Open Data Folder. This opens the MT5 data directory on your computer.

Navigate to the Experts Folder

Inside the data folder, go to: MQL5 → Experts. This is where all EA files must be placed.

Copy the .ex5 File Here

Paste your Pipzard_Venom.ex5 (or Pipzard_Pro.ex5) file into the Experts folder. Do not rename it.

Refresh MT5

Go back to MT5. In the Navigator panel (Ctrl+N), right-click Expert Advisors → Refresh. Your Pipzard EA should now appear in the list.

⚠️ If you can't find the Experts folder, make sure hidden files are visible in Windows (View → Show → Hidden Items). The AppData folder is hidden by default.

Attach the EA to the XAUUSD Chart

Open Gold on the M15 timeframe and attach Pipzard.

Open the XAUUSD Chart

In Market Watch, right-click XAUUSD → Chart Window. This opens a new chart. Set the timeframe to M15 (15 minutes) using the toolbar at the top.

Drag & Drop the EA

In the Navigator panel, find Expert Advisors → Pipzard. Drag it onto the XAUUSD M15 chart. The EA settings window will open automatically.

Enter Your License Key

In the EA settings window, find the License Key field and paste the key from your purchase email. The EA will not run without a valid key.

Allow Live Trading

In the EA settings window, check "Allow live trading" on the Common tab. Click OK. A smiley face (☺) should now appear in the top-right corner of the chart — this means the EA is active.

⚠️ If you see a sad face (☹) instead of a smiley, AutoTrading is disabled. Click the "AutoTrading" button in the MT5 toolbar to enable it.

⚠️ Drawdown is normal. When you see -$15 or -$30 in open floating loss, that is the basket working. Do NOT close these trades. The EA's basket logic is designed to recover and close in profit as a group. Panic-closing is how traders lose money.

What Is a VPS?

A Virtual Private Server is a remote Windows computer in a data centre that runs 24/7 on a high-speed connection. You install MT5 on it and it runs your EA constantly — regardless of what happens to your home computer.

~$5–6/month. Select Windows Server, European or US location. 4 vCPUs and 8GB RAM is more than enough for MT5 + Pipzard. Pay monthly until you've confirmed the EA is profitable, then upgrade to annual billing.

Connect to Your VPS

Use Windows Remote Desktop (RDP) — built into all Windows PCs. Search "Remote Desktop Connection" in the Start menu. Enter your VPS IP, username, and password to connect. Install MT5 inside the VPS and repeat Steps 2–5.

Monitor From Your Phone

Download MetaTrader 5 on your phone and log in with the same broker account. You can check open trades, floating P&L, and closed profits from anywhere without touching the EA.

✅ You can start without a VPS if budget is tight. But once you've had your first 2–3 profitable basket closures, get the VPS. It's the one upgrade that protects everything else.

Do not log in and manually check every hour. The EA needs time to find its first entry. Checking obsessively causes anxiety and panic decisions. Set it and walk away for 3 days.

Common Questions

Why is my EA showing a sad face instead of smiley? +

AutoTrading is disabled. Click the AutoTrading button in the MT5 toolbar (it turns green when enabled). Also check that "Allow live trading" is checked in the EA's settings (right-click the chart → Expert Advisors → Properties).

The EA opened trades but my balance is going down — is that normal? +

Yes — completely normal. This is floating drawdown, not a real loss yet. The basket logic opens multiple recovery positions during drawdown. The positions close together as a group once the algorithm finds its recovery target. Never manually close these trades. Patience is required.

What if the EA doesn't open any trades for 2–3 days? +

This is normal — Pipzard waits for specific market conditions before entering. There are no entries during low-volatility periods, public holidays, or major news blackout windows. If no trades have opened after 5 full trading days, contact support via WhatsApp — it may be a setup issue.

Can I run two accounts at the same time? +

Yes — many traders run 2–3 accounts simultaneously on separate MT5 instances (on a VPS). Each instance needs its own licensed EA copy. Contact support to discuss multi-account licensing options.

I lost money on a basket cycle — what do I do? +

Losses happen — roughly 1 in every 8–10 basket cycles will close negative. This is built into the system's math. Do not change settings, do not increase lot size to "recover" faster. Simply let the next basket cycle run. The 80–90% win rate means the system profits substantially over many cycles even accounting for losing ones.

My MT5 closed unexpectedly and I have open trades — what now? +

Restart MT5 and log back in immediately. The open trades will still be there in your broker account — MT5 closing doesn't close the trades. Once MT5 is running with the EA attached again, it will resume managing the open basket. This is exactly why a VPS is recommended — it prevents this scenario entirely.

When should I increase my lot size? +

Only scale up when your account has grown significantly. The rule of thumb: increase lot size when your balance has 2× the recommended minimum for that lot size. On a cent account: 0.01 → 0.02 when balance doubles from starting point. Never increase during a drawdown period.
